I have been sewing oodles and gobs of shorts, pants and hats. I am kind of crazy about sun protection, so I make sure we have plenty of hats available to shield our skin from the sun.
This past weekend, we went up north during the annual Midsummer's Day Celebration. Since we live in an area that has lots of Scandinavian folks, there is a Summer Solstice Celebration. And I am totally in favor of ritualizing the first day of summer...woo hoo! Here is the Chameleon hat (all hats are reversible to different fabric, and I use a simplicity pattern).
Next is some "Pirate Pants" that I made for Z. and have since made 3 or 4 more pairs. My pattern.Z. is donning the 'Midnight Snack' hat that reverses to red stripes. Here is another view of the pirate pants while Z. was constructing a bridge out of cards. hmmm, a lesson in physics is in order. All pants have side pockets.
Hope you are having a great start to summer!
