~Starting with a few hardbound books (which have had their interiors removed), tape, pencils, misc. art supplies and creativity--equals a new form of "portfolio". The boys each selected a hardbound cover and decided to draw self portraits, and favorite items (I think that is a fish above).
~I especially love the "cheeks" and "wild brows" on N's sketches. This project is a great way to recycle discarded books. When the boys were creating these projects, I could see creativity and determination in their designs. They started out slow with brainstorming, which then turned into a sense of urgency to get their ideas down.
~C.C. also made a book with a bit of tape, and markers. He is in the phase of:
::scribble some more--show mom,
::more scribbling--show mom.He is so very proud of his little doodles. Which makes me happy. Easy happy. Perfect.
